LAPLACE –  St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alarm activation at a residence in the 100 block of Paula Drive in LaPlace on Sunday, only to find the door ajar and no one home.
As the investigation developed, deputies recovered a television that was stolen from the residence and identified a suspect. Charles Michael Bailey, 32, of Paula Drive, was arrested and booked with simple criminal damage to property and simple burglary of an immovable structure.
Bailey remains in custody in lieu of an $18,000 bond.
