Opening in late summer, the BCCM will house 40 unique exhibits highlighting the industries, agriculture, environment and Cajun culture of south Louisiana. It will also incorporate party rooms, meeting space, a small theater, a gift shop and picnic areas. The BCCM is located at 211 Rue Betancourt, near Nicholls State University. It will serve children ages 2–12 from within an eight parish area, including Assumption, Ascension, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Mary, Terrebonne and beyond. It will act as an extension of the classroom since the exhibits will correspond to the Core Curriculum for area schools.
