Repeat LaPlace offender arrested again

LAPLACE – Detectives at the
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office recently apprehended a repeat offender who
has allegedly been arrested more than 70 times in the parish since 2002.
A 34-year-old LaPlace man walked into River Parishes Hospital Emergency Room during the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 19, for treatment of injuries received while he was punched and robbed for cash near Camelia Avenue in LaPlace. The victim was treated for a broken jaw.
Detectives identified Todd Joseph Jr., 28, of Persimmon Street in LaPlace as the suspect. Sheriff’s Office records indicate that Joseph has been arrested 73 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since Aug. 19, 2002.
Prior to being identified as the suspect of the robbery, Joseph was arrested and booked at the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sherman Walker Correctional Center on a bench warrant, attachment and probation violation.
Detectives booked Joseph with second-degree battery and simple robbery. His bond is $70,150.
