The LaPlace Elementary School 2012-13 Tigerettes recently held its 10th annual awards banquet. Special guests in attendance this year were former members of the past 10 years,  Whitney Jackson (2003-2004 member), Madison Smith (2003-2005 member), Crystal Leonard (2006-2009), Lauren Price (2006-2009 member), Marissa Price (2007-2010 member), Gabrielle House (2008-2011 member) and Jada Butler (2010-2012 member).  Also, honored were the LES Banner carriers Yaffa Young and Kaylee Caronna.
The members were recognized for the dedication, attendance and participation as a member. The following special awards were received by:
First year members – Ravyn Bazile, fifth-grader, recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for 110 percent Camp Participation and “Most Enthusiastic Dancer” certificate; Kearis Carter, fifth-grader, received certificates for “Perfect Attendance at our 2012 Summer Workshop” and “Perfect Outstanding Attendance for 2012-13,” “Performance Dedication” Award, as well as the “Superior Perfect Attendance and Dedication” award; Adania Daughtry, fifth-grader, received the “Most Enthusiastic Dancer” and “Perfect Outstanding Attendance,” “Performance Dedication” Award and received  “Third Place High Score of Meri”t – earning 901 Merits; Ashlyn Brown, sixth-grader, received a “2012 Summer Workshop Perfect Attendance” certificate and was recognized for receiving a 2012 UDA Summer Camp Pin It Forward Award; Skiler Cornish, sixth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and receives an “Outstanding Attendance” certificate; Kayla Caronna, sixth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for Extra Effort and received “Most Improved Dancer,” Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop, Perfect Outstanding Attendance certificates, the “Performance Dedication” Award, as well as the “Superior Perfect Attendance and Dedication” award.  Caronna also received “Second Place High Score of Merit” – earning 913 Merits award.  Kourageous Joseph, sixth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and received “Most Courteous & Respectful Tigerette,” “Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop” and Perfect Outstanding Attendance certificate, the “Performance Dedication,” as well as the “Superior Perfect Attendance and Dedication” award; Ana Norwood, sixth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp, Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop,  Perfect Outstanding Attendance certificate and the “Performance Dedication” award; Kacie Veal, sixth-grader,  is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and a recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for Most Helpful to her teammates and received the “Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop,” Perfect Outstanding Attendance and “Prettiest Smile”  certificates, the “Performance Dedication” and the “Superior Perfect Attendance & Dedication” award; Tatianna Rixner, seventh-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA and a Summer Camp recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for Best in Games and also received “Most Enthusiastic Dancer,” “Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop,”  Outstanding Attendance and the “Performance Dedication” award.
Second year members – Serenity LaGrange, seventh-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and was selected as a 2012 UDA All American and received the “Most Courteous and Respectful Tigerette,” Perfect Attendance for 2012 Summer Workshop, Perfect Outstanding Attendance certificates,  the “Performance Dedication” Award for two years, as well as the “Superior Perfect Attendance and Dedication” award for 2011-13. LaGrange received “First Place High Score of Merit” – earning 944 Merits and the Overall Merit Award for High Merit and Zero Demerits two years in a row. Brittany Weaver, eighth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for Team Leadership, she also received the “Most Helpful Tigerette” and Outstanding Attendance certificates, the “Performance Dedication” Award and by a vote of her teammates and banner carrier team Miss Weaver was selected as the 2012-13 Tigerette Sweetheart.
Third year member – Kelsea Pritchett, eighth-grader, is recognized for her participation at the 2012 UDA Summer Camp and recipient of a UDA Special Recognition Ribbon for 110 percent Focus on Dance, and she was selected as a 2012 UDA All American and received an Outstanding Attendance certificate.
