School Board selects new St. Charles superintendent

LULING – The St. Charles Parish School Board unanimously selected Felecia Gomez-Walker as the new superintendent of St. Charles Parish Public Schools.
Gomez-Walker has been employed with the school system for more than 36 years. She is a graduate of Hahnville High School. She is the first woman to hold the position.
Gomez-Walker is taking over for former Superintendent Rodney Lafon, who retired from the position effective July 1. Lafon led the school system for 18 years.
