LAPLACE – St. Charles Parish Public Schools has been ranked as a top-10 school district in the ninth annual Digital School Districts Survey by the Center for Digital Education and the National School Boards Association.
The survey showcases exemplary school boards’ and districts’ use of technology to govern the district, communicate with students, parents and the community and to improve district operations.
“This is a tremendous honor and a reflection of our commitment to ensuring students have the best in technology so they can prepare for the 21st century,” said Dr. Rodney Lafon, superintendent of St. Charles Parish Public Schools.
“Being named as one of the top 10 digital education districts nationally is a testament to our technology department and all those involved in implementing the latest technology into our school system. With today’s fast-paced and technology driven world, it is imperative we are on the cutting edge of technology in St. Charles Parish Public Schools,” said Lafon. “This ranking shows we are a technology leader in the nation, and we are very proud to have received this recognition.”
The top 10 rankings are awarded to school boards/districts that most fully implement technology benchmarks in the evolution of digital education, as represented in the survey questions.
