RPH holds annual Service Award luncheon

LAPLACE – River Parishes Hos-pital held its 30th annual Service Award Luncheon at Belle Terre Cou-ntry Club. Employees celebrating a five-year milestone of service were recognized and the 2012 Employee of the Year was announced.
Vanessa Peters, chief nursing officer and mistress of ceremonies, welcomed everyone to the luncheon and expressed her delight in being able to host this occasion. She then called on each department manager to recognize his/her employees who celebrated a five, 10 or 15-year milestone of service in 2012.
Employees who were recognized for five years of service were Suzanne Schexnayder, Kathy Tassin, Lesley Wininger, Sharonne Gauthier, Tomeiko Moody, John St. Martin, Todd Millet, Darlene McClue and Ella Morgan. Employees recognized for 10 years of service were: Brigitte Gommel, Tiffany Boswell, Dr. Andrew St. Martin, Lisa Millet, Donyelle Brooks, Deborah Myers, Reionne Garnett, Kim Cason and Lisa Vicknair. Employees recognized for 15 years of service were: Cherrie Broekhove, Gabriel Dupard, Nicole Williams, Marsha Flauss, Carissima Torres, Martia Allen, Rachel Triche, Donna Roussel and Lori Noel.
Kat Trepagnier, human resources director, Kristi Hymel, assistant administrator, and Mary Lubrano, director of quality and infection control, took turns reading fun facts that took place in 1992, 1987 and 1982. Managers returned back to the podium to recognize those employees who celebrated a 20, 25 and 30-year milestone of service. A total of 41 employees were recognized, six of whom have been employed at River Parishes Hospital since it opened in 1982.
Employees recognized for 20 years of service were: Mary Lubrano, Gloria Williams, Tiffanie Bourgeois and Nancy Jacob. Employees recognized for 25 years of service were: Charlene Parker, Beryl Williams and Frank Johnson, and those recognized for 30 years of service were: Judy Naquin, Cheryl Jackson, Devaki Robertson, Melanie Lanegrasse, Kyle Cason and Kaye Keller.
The floor was then returned to Peters to announce River Parishes Hospital’s 2012 Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Year is selected based upon his/her commitment and representation of the five core values of LifePoint Hospitals and River Parishes Hospital. They are delivering high quality patient care, creating excellent workplaces for our employees, supporting
physicians, providing community value and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Peters concluded by announcing Brigitte Gommel-Mohon, RN, Director of the Intensive Care Unit, as the 2012 Employee of the Year. Gommel-Mohon received an award, a cash prize, a reserve parking space at the hospital for a year and will receive a complimentary day off with pay.
