The 2012-13 Yvonne’s Directions in Dance company has had an incredible year. Along with attending five regional dance competitions, N.T.G .and Dancers Inc. conventions, LSU Tiger Girl clinic, boot camp, master classes and the Broadway Dance Connections workshop for “Mary Poppins,” the dance company members found time to participate in events to help their community.
They performed a Halloween-themed show at the Lions Club pumpkin patch, were camp counselors at the studios annual Christmas camp in which a portion of the proceeds were donated to cystic fibrosis foundation, performed for the Festival of the Bonfires and the Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer society.
They will be showcasing all of their award winning dances at the studios 26th annual recital, “Once Upon A Time” on Sunday, May 5, to be held at the W.J. Harrang auditorium in Thibodaux. Tickets will go on sale April 27 and will also be available at the door.
The dancers have qualified and will compete at the Starpower World Championships held in Orlando, Fla. in Disney World this summer.
