LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Gustavo Shinard, 25, of LaPlace on Monday for
an attempted murder that occurred on March 28.
On March 28 at 6:32 p.m., St. John Parish Sher-iff’s Office deputies res-ponded to the 400 block of Homewood Place in Reserve for the report of men shooting. Upon arrival, a male subject told deputies Shinard was walking on Homewood Place
and had shot at the subject as he drove past him.
Based on the findings of the investigation, detectives obtained a judicial court order-ed arrest warrant on Shinard for attempted first degree murder
and illegal use of
a weapon. Shinard
was arrested at Cambridge Court in LaPlace. Shinard remains in jail. His bond is $505,000.
