Celebrating 33 years of God

This past Tuesday, Get High on Life had a banquet celebra-ting its 33rd anniversary. Jeanne and I have been privileged and blessed to be laborers in God’s ministry of reaching out to the many troubled, lonely and hurting in today’s society. We have been entrusted with the responsibility of planting the seed of hope in people who seem to be defeated by the pressures of life. I pray that we will never betray the trust that God and the people we meet have placed in us.
We gathered Tuesday to share what we’ve experienced over the years and heard testimonies from people whose lives have been changed. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported God’s ministry.
I have to admit and repent at times for getting so wrapped up in God’s Work that I forget about the God of the Works. It’s then that He reminds me that our mission is only to plant the seed,
but it’s Him that changes lives.
All my life, I’ve searched for a meaningful way to get excited about my earthly existence. Like most people, I wanted to be successful as the world measures success. I had a little taste of that life, but it led me on a road of destruction.
My plan wasn’t God’s plan. His plan for my life allowed me to lose all the material things that I thought brought happiness. Defeated and embarrassed, it was then in 1980 that God revealed His plan for my life. It’s been 33 years. It hasn’t been easy, but we are a living testimony that God has supplied all of our needs.
Not in my wildest imagination did I ever think that I could be so content with life. With an attitude of gratitude, we thank God for the past and look forward with excitement to what He has in store for our future.
