St. Peter Chanel’s seventh- and eighth-grade students traveled to Washington, D.C., and New York City over the Mardi Gras Holidays. They began their educational trip in Washington, D.C., visiting the Capitol and the White House, along with many monuments and memorials. The next day, Mardi Gras cheer was spread when they visited Mount Vernon and the Basilica. The students then experienced the magic of New York City, receiving ashes and visiting the United Nations and other great attractions that New York has to offer. During their stay in New York, they were exited to bump elbows with famous faces such as Donald Trump and Buddy Valastro, “Cake Boss.” Experiencing Mary Poppins on Broadway may just be one of the highlights of their trip. They ended their trip back in Washington, D.C., at Arlington Cemetery.
