LAPLACE – The Federal Highway Administration, in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and the Regional Planning Commission, will hold a Public Information Meeting on Thursday, April 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Reserve Library to discuss the possible construction of a new roadway from the Reserve area along U.S. Highway 61 to Interstate 10.
The agencies have undertaken the Environmental Impact Statement to examine access options from the Reserve area along U.S. 61 to I-10, and have identified two construction alternatives to carry forward into the impacts analysis process. These two alternatives, along with a low-cost Transportation System Management Alternative, have been conceptually engineered and are now undergoing impact analysis along with the No-Build Alternative.
Residents are invited to attend the Public Information Meeting to review the plan, view drawings of the two construction alternatives and TSM alternatives and share their input on possible impacts of each alternative. Comments will be accepted at the close of the meeting or may be mailed by April 13.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a half-hour open house. A PowerPoint presentation will begin at 6 p.m. at Reserve Library, located at 170 W. 10th St. in Reserve.
