Cecile Webre Holmes, 98, a resident of Reserve and a native of Edgard, was called to eternal rest March 31, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. at her home in Reserve surrounded by her family.
She was the mother of Audrey Holmes, Eugene Lindsey Holmes Jr. and Cecelia H. Gonzales. She leaves behind her son-in-law, Wayne “Put” Gonzales, four grandchildren, Josh Gonzales, Troy Holmes, Trina Holmes and Shakira Holmes and her husband Joe Morici, and three great grandchildren, Adrianna, April and Joey.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Lindsey Holmes Sr., her parents, Rene and Annette Webre, her sister Isma Webre Keller and four brothers, Stephen, Theodore, Rene and Dudley Webre.
She was a faculty member of St. Peter’s Catholic School for 26 years, a member of several Catholic organizations, as well as a parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by Mass at noon. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
