St. John Sheriff’s Office seeking information on Wednesday shooting

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to River Parishes Hospital when a gunshot victim arrived at the emergency room for treatment Wednesday.

When deputies arrived, they were informed that a 31-year-old male victim from Reserve had sustained a gunshot wound in his shoulder. His current condition is unknown.

A friend of the victim told investigators he was driving his vehicle on East 24th Street in Reserve, and the victim was a passenger in his vehicle with four other subjects.

As his vehicle approached a male subject on side of the street in the 100 block, the man produced and shot a pistol at the vehicle as it passed. They fled the area quickly and after realizing one of the passengers was shot, proceeded to River Parishes Hospital. No one else was injured.
