He was a proud LSU Tiger fan, having previously been a member of the LSU Band. Kermit held leadership positions in many organizations, including the American Society of Sugarcane Technologists, Lions Club, County Agents Association, Farm Bureau, and Block and Bridle Club. He was a member of the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame and recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow of the Lions. Kermit loved his family, friends, community and everything LSU. He was widely loved and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher. Visitation will resume at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy on Saturday, March 23, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.
