GRAMERCY – Fresh off the success of its first ever Christmas event, St. James Parish-based Crazy ‘Bout History will present an Easter Bunny Hop Sunday at the St. James Welcome Center in Gramercy.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the center, located at 1094 U.S. Highway 61 in Gramercy. There is no admission charge.
Children who attend will be able to participate in a number of activities. Photo sessions with the Easter Bunny, including a commemorative CD with a number of photos, will be $5. Additionally, girls can enter the Easter bonnet contest while boys can try their hand at the Easter basket contest. Judging for these events will take place at 2 p.m.
Besides these activities, there will be games and storytelling all afternoon.
The one activity that will be absent from the festivities, however, is an Easter egg hunt. According to Crazy ‘Bout History’s Mary Walker, this is because the swampland surrounding the Welcome Center, while scenic, might be a little dangerous for young egg hunters.
Also Sunday, refreshments will be for sale, and door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes.
