Jessie L. Bourgeois Sr., the husband of the late Bernice Hebert Bourgeois, was born on Feb. 1, 1917 and passed away on March 2, 2013. He was a resident of Lutcher and a native of Paulina. He was the son of the late Merante Louque and Walter Bourgeois Sr. Bourgeois was a World War II veteran and a retiree of Kaiser Aluminum.

He was the father of seven sons: Jessie Jr., Wayne, the late Dale, Gary, Larry, Kevin, and Blair Bourgeois; and two daughters: Sonja Bourgeois Gros and Gail Bourgeois Peet. He was the brother of Bertha Bourgeois LaRose, the late Walter Jr., Felton, Everett, Gerald Bourgeois, Rita Bourgeois Cambre, Shirley Bourgeois Bouvier and Elsie Bourgeois. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, March 5 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 6 from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services in Lutcher. The Wednesday visitation will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
