Louisana State Police are seeking the driver of a vehicle that struck a man on the Hale Boggs Bridge in St. Charles Parish Tuesday.

Louisiana State Police Troop B received notification of a mattress in the roadway on Interstate 310 south at mile post 6.6. After investigating troopers arrived, they learned that a 2002 Ford F-250, driven by Greg Boudreaux of Destrehan was transporting a mattress that fell out of the truck on I-310 at mile post 6.6 on the bridge. Boudreaux exited I-310 at Louisiana Highway 18 and turned around, traveling north on I-310 to retrieve the mattress.

Boudreaux then stopped on the right shoulder of I-310 north, crossed the lanes of travel and was standing on the left shoulder of I-310 south waiting until the traffic was clear to retrieve the mattress.

While standing on the left shoulder, Boudreaux was struck by a vehicle and sustained moderate injuries. The vehicle did not stop after hitting Boudreaux.

A left headlight assembly and mirror from the vehicle were located on the scene, and troopers have determined that the vehicle that struck Boudreaux was a 2005 Chevrolet Impala.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicle is asked to call Troop B at 504-471-2775.

The Chevrolet Impala will have damage to the left front and will also be missing the side mirror on the driver’s side.
