Joseph R. “Roy” Madere Sr., 84, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Marian Bourgeois Madere for 58 years, father of Joseph “Boggie” Jr., Dennis and Gary Madere, Donna Poche’ and Judy Edwards, grandfather of Rae, Michele, Ryan, Blaine, Justin, Gina, Bria, Austin, Jessica and Rachel and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Francis and Sedonia Madere, brother of Priscilla Nuccio, Patricia Dempster and the late Vera Ramsey, Ory, David, Francis and John Curtis Madere.
He was a native and resident of Montz.
Services were held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. Burial followed in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.
