RESERVE – The Frank G. Lapeyrolerie and Leola Montz Senior Center held a special Mardi Gras ball for residents Friday.

The seniors and their families watched the procession of the royal court, then celebrated with a small banquet and dancing with music by local emcee, DJ Hippie.

Norris Sylvan and Beverly Pettigrew were the king and queen. The royal court was made up three maids and three dukes. The maids were: Beatrice Jones, Lois Ponville and Lucy Green. The dukes were: Andrew Poplus, Herbert Combre and Lorenzo Rel.

Velda Michel, part of the senior center staff, also presented each member of the court with Mardi Gras-themed gift bags. After the procession, guests dug into homemade jambalaya and punch.
