Elsie Matherne Cambre, 85, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013.

She was the beloved wife of the late Lewis Cambre Jr. and mother of Kathleen Cambre, Marie Ursa (Charles), Lewis Cambre III (Carla), Lyle Cambre (Drema) and Elsie Cambre. She also had 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Leona Matherne, sister of Inez Duhon Blank and the late Joseph, Adam, Sidney and Charles Matherne Jr., Eunice Miller, Elise Zeringue and Gertrude Brady.

She was a member of St. Hubert Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, RSVP, River Parishes Hospital Volunteers, St. John Parish CAP and the Garyville VFW Auxillary.

She was a native and resident of Garyville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Friday Feb. 8, 2013, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
