In February, students from Gramercy Elementary Magnet School will be attending the Young People’s Concert and the Early Explorer’s Concert entitled “Let’s Go LPO!” The students will learn about rhythm and teamwork in music while listening to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra perform exciting orchestral works.
Amanda Wuerstlin, Director of Education and Community Engagement, along with Phil Bravo, a guest from New York’s Carnegie Hall, visited GEMS in order to meet the recorder students and hear them play “In C” and “Saints Go Marching In.” During the concert visit, the GEMS students will play these two pieces with the LPO.
