Mitchell Paul Mire, 57, peacefully passed away on Oct. 31, 2012, after losing his battle with cancer.  

He was the beloved husband of Janice Rhynes Mire, father of Erin and husband Jack Mayo and Dana and husband Thomas Benoit, stepfather of Malcolm Jr., Curtis and Scott Dupre, grandfather of Tatum Jayde Benoit, son of the late Elmo F. Mire and Audrey Louque Mire and brother of Darnell and husband Tim Tregre and Deena and husband Alan Rome. He was also uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all.  

Mitch’s passion was his devotion to the Lord, serving in the Mission Field. He, his wife Jan and daughters served in Brazil and in Russia. Mitch was born and raised in Gramercy and was a resident of Ocala, Fla.

Relatives and friends are invited to join in a memorial service celebrating Mitch’s life on Saturday Dec. 15, 2012, at the Thibodaux Family Church located at 785 North Canal Blvd. (Louisiana Highway 20), Thibodaux. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will begin at 1 p.m.
