Samuel Anthony “Sammy” Tramonte, 81, was born Sept. 6, 1931, and passed away Nov. 30, 2012. He was a native of Lutcher and a resident of Gramercy.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Schexnayder Tramonte; sons: David and wife Bonnie; Pat and wife Diane; and Chip and wife Dawn; and daughters: Kitty Poche and husband Kenny; Donna Martin and husband Milton; and Missy Rizzuto and husband Jared. He is also survived by his brothers, Steve, Lonnie and Mike “Cheeky” Tramonte, and sisters, Liz Lassere and Mary Rose Brown. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. D. Tramonte and Rosie Roccaforte Tramonte, and a brother, Frank Tramonte.  

Sammy was a perpetual adorer for the Adoration Chapel in Lutcher, which he helped build. He was a St. Joseph Altar worker and a retired employee of Dupont.

Visitation was on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Rose Lynn Funeral Services of Lutcher, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy.  Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.
