LaPlace couple charged in narcotics investigation

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives received information about the illegal sale of MDMA, or ecstasy, from the residence at 2152 Pinehurst Drive in LaPlace.
On Wednesday, Nov. 21, detectives initiated an investigation and obtained a judicial court ordered search warrant for the residence.
Upon execution of the search warrant, detectives recovered approximately 1 ounce of MDMA and drug paraphernalia. Denise Zimmerman, 35, was at the residence with her three children. She was arrested and booked with possession of schedule I CDS, distribution/manufacturing schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of a CDS and illegal use of CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jack Zimmerman Jr., 35, also of the Pinehurst Drive address. Jack Zimmerman, Denise’s husband, was not at the residence when the search warrant was executed. He turned himself in to authorities Friday, Nov. 23. He was arrested and booked with possession of schedule I CDS, distribution/manufacturing schedule I CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of a CDS and illegal use of CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age.
Denise Zimmerman’s and Jack Zimmerman’s bonds were set at $96,500. Both have since bonded out.
