Harry Hurst students representing the Wetland Watchers Service-Learning Project were invited by the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club to be a part of the Alligator Festival’s popular Alligator Stomp 5K Race. Students presented live baby alligators to the many race participants, were designated as the official race starters, held the finish line ribbon for the winners in each race category and assisted in presenting the awards to all of the winners. The two Wetland Watchers mascots, Swampy and Marshy, were VIP’s for the Alligator Festival festivities.
