DESTREHAN — Destrehan picked up its second consecutive decisive win Friday night at home, the Wildcats downing District 8-5A foe John Ehret, 42-24.

It’s the first time DHS has strung consecutive wins this season, and the second straight week Destrehan has scored 40 or more points.

Destrehan quarterback Donovan Isom passed for 213 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 67 with another score. He threw three interceptions.

Isom’s favorite target was Michael Smith, who hauled in five receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Rickey Jefferson was held relatively in check, with three catches for 36 yards.

Will Matthews earned his second straight start for the Wildcats (4-2, 2-0) and had another big night, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.

Destrehan finished with 465 yards of total offense.

For Ehret, Darrel Williams led the way with 143 total yards.

Ehret led 16-15 at one point in the first half, but a Destrehan surge to finish the second quarter gave the Wildcats a 28-16 halftime lead.
