LAPLACE – A man found dead inside a Metairie motel room Friday was identified as a LaPlace resident, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

A housekeeper discovered the body of King Honore, 41, lying on a bed in room 124 of the LaQuinta Inn, 3100 South Interstate 10 Service Road, just before 3 p.m. Friday. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Col. John Fortunato said Honore was staying at the hotel because his home in LaPlace was damaged by Hurricane Isaac.

Fortunato said an autopsy revealed that Honore had been strangled. It was not clear how long Honore had been dead before his body was discovered.

Investigators have not released a motive or any suspects in the murder. Anyone with information about the murder of King Honore is asked to call the detective Rhonda Goff with the Sheriff’s Office investigations bureau at 504-364-5300. The public can also call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll free at 1-877-903-7867. Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward if information leads to an arrest or conviction of a suspect.
