‘The Frog Prince’ audtions Monday

An audition will be held for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Frog Prince,” Monday, July 30, at St. John Theatre with registration at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $50 per participant. The first session will be auditions and will be held from 9-11 a.m. Those auditioning should arrive at 8 a.m. and plan to stay for the full audition. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Among the roles to be cast are three sisters – who also happen to be Princesses, two students to play the lonely Frog, Ollie the Aspen Tree, bumbling Knights, kindly Swamp Things, the well-read Alligator, fancy Flamingos, helpful Ducks, a busy Fly and the nasty Venus Fly Traps. All students entering first through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.
Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. each day.
“The Frog Prince” will be presented on Aug. 4 with two performances at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Reserve is brought to you by St. John Theatre with support from Houma Regional Arts Council, Louisiana Division of the Arts, and our host hotel, Quality Inn of LaPlace.
