The River Parishes Hospital Auxiliary recently awarded scholarships to three high school seniors: Paige Bourgeois, a student from Lutcher High School; Tiffany Mitchell, a student from St. Charles Catholic High School; and Randi Beltz, a student from Hahnville High School. Each student was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Each year, the Auxiliary holds fundraisers to benefit their scholarship fund. They also receive donations from the RPH Medical Staff. In April, they send letters to all area high schools inviting qualified students who plan to pursue a healthcare career to apply. Winners are selected based on their academic achievements, personal goals and aspirations for the future.

“We are excited this year to have a winner in each of the three parishes we serve,” said Tammy Waltz, volunteer coordinator. “We have so many deserving students in our area and look forward to having the opportunity to assist them in pursuing their future careers.”
