LULING — Over 150 parents and children attended the Success By 6 Summer Kickoff at the St. Charles Parish Community Health Center in Luling.

United Way of St. Charles partnered with the St. Charles Community Health Center and other community agencies to provide this fun, educational event that featured health and vision screenings, parenting workshops, cooking demonstrations and other information and resources for parents.

Children enjoyed an array of activities such as face painting, finger printing, Teddy Bear clinic, games and much more.

Attendees also won door prizes including restaurant and Wal-Mart gift cards. There was free food and giveaways for everyone in attendance.

“The United Way of St. Charles Success By 6 program enjoys putting on this event because it brings together families in the community to give them the resources they need to raise healthy, happy children. Events like these are important because we know that when a child is prepared for school and life, the entire community

benefits,” stated
