River Parishes Hospital new employee

River Parishes Hospital welcomed Jason Hawkes, RRT, BS(CPS) as the new cardiopulmonary supervisor.

Hawkes brings with him 12 years of respiratory therapist experience, of which three

were in a charge/supervisory capacity. He most recently served as a registered respiratory therapist and charge therapist at Touro Infirmary and as

a registered respiratory therapist at LSU Interim Public Hospital.

Hawkes received a bachelor’s degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from LSU Health Science Center and is a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care.

“I feel very rejuvenated being here with everyone’s upbeat attitude,” said Hawkes. “It’s refreshing to see employees of all levels working together as a team.” He continued, “I would like to continue to grow the Cardiopulmonary Department and services we offer. We will set the bar high and continue to strive to reach it!”

A native of Vidalia, Hawkes and his wife, Leanne, currently live in Chalmette. They have a 2-year-old son named Mason and are expecting their second child in December.
