LAPLACE — LARAYO clinched at least a share of first place in the River Parish Swim League and pulled within one victory of another undefeated league championship with a 417-129 win at Ellington.

LARAYO (5-0) was led by Emily Schexnayder, Kelly Campbell, Cody Schafer and Maggie Trepagnier, who each won three events.

Matthew Schexnayder, Josh Tamplain, Drew Schafer, Chelsea St. Martin, Luke Jackson, Austin Matherne and Ben East each captured victory in two events.

Alex Schiff, Kaile Levatino, Devon Watson, Francesca Puglia, Alex East, Will East, Natalie Weinert and Meredith Keating rounded out the winners for LARAYO.

The Barracudas got out to a big lead early, scoring 78 points in the freestyle; after two events, they led 152-64.

LARAYO won all but one relay race.

The Barracudas were scheduled to finish their regular season Monday at home against Belle Terre. Results will be in the next issue.
