HAHNVILLE – Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Eric Skrmetta of Metairie will conduct a town hall meeting with constituents Wednesday evening in St. Charles Parish. The meeting will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the St. Charles Parish Council chambers at the parish courthouse, located at 15045 River Road, Hahnville.

“This meeting is being held as a courtesy to the citizens of St. Charles Parish to voice their concerns about any issues related to utility companies operating in the area,” Skrmetta’s office said in a release. “Consumers who are experiencing difficulties with a utility company are encouraged to attend as Commissioner Skrmetta and his staff will be on hand to answer any questions.”

The Louisiana Public Service Commission is an independent regulatory agency serving the public interest by assuring safe, reliable and reasonably priced services for the public utilities and motor carriers. The commission takes an active and cautious role in development of a competitive, market-based approach to utility regulation whenever such an approach is in the public interest.

Skrmetta is one of five elected commissioners. He represents portions of St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes. For more information on the meeting, call Skrmetta’s Mandeville office at 985-624-4660, his Metairie office at 504-846-6930, or visit his website at www.ericskrmetta.com.
