Manners of the Heart is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen morals, improve social and emotional skills and increase respectfulness in children and adults through their professional character education program. This is a program that has been incorporated into East St. John Elementary’s daily routines and curriculum by the teachers and Jennifer Russell, ESJE’s school counselor.

Manners of the Heart representatives did their final site visit with ESJE recently. Big Wilbur, one of the characters of the curriculum, visited each classroom from K-fourth grade asking questions from the lessons the students learned this year. The program has been a great success and we look forward to seeing the positive influence it has and will continue to have on our students and adults of East St. John Elementary.
