Performing Arts Dance Center competes in four regionals

laplace – Performing Arts Dance Center’s 26 members dance company recently competed an outstanding competition, performance and marching season. Performing Arts Dance Center is owned and operated by Traci Breaux Marchetta. The dance company teacher choreographer is Ashlee Barré Brister. Performing Arts Dance Center is home of the 2012 “Mr. Teen Dance” Donavan Brooks.

The dance company members attended four regional dance competitions, held in Biloxi, New Orleans and two in Baton Rouge. They also performed at the 2011 Andouille Festival.

They also attended the Circuit Tour Convention, which was held at the dance studio in LaPlace. Circuit Tour Convention scholarship winners were Stephanie Richardson – senior full scholarship, Kaitlin Mizell – junior full scholarship, Cameron Price – partial scholarship and Ta’Nia Higginbotham – partial scholarship.

Dance company members are also a part of the top first place marching group. This was the fourth year in a row winning this top honor.

The dance company received the special award “Life of the Party” studio spirit award at Celebration Talent in Biloxi. This award was given to the studio deemed to be the most polite overall and most supportive of their own teammates, as well as, supporting other dancers.

Performing Arts Dance Center 2012 dance company members are Alexis DiBuono, Alexis Washington, Alexus Jones, Alissa Stutzman, Ally Lemoine, Amanda Riviere, Ashley Seiser, Blair Andrepont, Brooke Duhe, Cameron Price, Chloe Genovese, Donavan Brooks, Haylee Guidry, Isabel Dodt, Jeanne Ledet, Julie Briones, Kaitlin Mizell, Katelyn Duhe, Lauren Trichell, Madison Eugene, Madison Tassin, Mallory Waguespack, Sammi Reid, Stephanie Richardson, Tania Higgenbotham and Victoria St. Martin.

The dance company will also be performing their dances in their annual dance recital celebrating the studio’s 15th anniversary on Sunday, May 27, at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre of Performing Arts.
