This event will take place on the historic grounds of St. Michael’s Church located at 6484 Louisiana Highway 44 (River Road) in Convent. It focuses on the past to give visitors an idea of how our ancestors celebrated, and visitors will also get a look at some of the history. There will people on the grounds who will be in costume, and they will be portraying some of those who once walked these grounds before us. It will entertain all who attend. There will be plenty of food, pie and cake baking contests, living history performances in the cemetery, Cajun dancers to teach the two-step, a band called Pooyai, about 50 antique cars, gospel music, pony rides and games of our ancestors.
