Hahnville High School senior Colton Rachal was chosen by the Interact Club as St. Charles Rotary’s 2012 “Young Person of the Year.” This award is a recognition of a young person who devotes time and energy toward community service.  Rachal is a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Drama Club. He is also a member of the Acapella Choir, Drumline and Symphonic Band.

Rachal is an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and serves as senior patrol leader and junior assistant scout master for his troop. He has received the “Order of the Arrow” and is presently preparing for his Eagle Scout. Rachal volunteers his time for church activities such as involvement with the Connect Team, Retirement Home Efforts and the Gentilly Cook Off. He plans to attend LouisianaState University to major in nursing.

Rachal is the son of Sheila and Joel Rachal of Luling.
