River Parishes Hospital seeking scholarship applications

The River Parishes Hospital Auxiliary is seeking applications for its annual scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who plans to enter a four-year healthcare degree program.
The applicant must be a resident of St. Charles, St. John or St. James parishes and a graduating senior from a high school located within one of these parishes. He/she must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher for the current school year, an ACT score of 23 or higher or an SAT score of 1100 or higher. All applicants must complete a personal data sheet, which can be obtained in the high school counselor’s office at all high schools in the River Parishes area and can also be downloaded from the River Parishes Hospital website, a copy of their high school transcript and a 200 word essay stating their career goals.
All applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, March 23. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by a scholarship committee. Applicants must be available for an interview on Wednesday, April 11, and will be notified of the exact time of the interview. Scholarships will be mailed to the winners the first semester of their second year in college.
