Wildlife and fisheries to host meeting in LaPlace

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish is among six locations across the state hosting public meetings to present proposed hunting season dates, Wildlife Management Areas rules and regulation changes and waterfowl zones and split options for the 2012-14 hunting seasons, according to a release from the state department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The meetings, which began Tuesday in Alexandria, are for public comment and questions regarding items under consideration by the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission. The St. John Parish meeting will be held Wednesday, March 21, at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at the Percy Hebert Building, 1801 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace. It is the only public comment meeting to be held in the River Parishes and New Orleans metropolitan area.
Public comment will be accepted at all LWFC monthly meetings from now through May 3. Comments may also be submitted directly to Randy Myers, Wildlife Division, LDWF, P.O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898-9000, or via email to rmyers@wlf.la.gov.
