Elma Therese “Tou Tou” Tassin, 95, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at River Parishes Hospital. She was a native of Wallace and a senior secretary for a Homestead office in New Orleans.

She is the daughter of the late Elie Tassin and Laure Dufresne and sister of the late Philomine Laroze, Zulma Tregre, Laura Breaud, Elise Borne, Marie T. Tassin, Rose Madre, Blance Tassin and Florian Tassin. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Christopher Decker officiating. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that masses be said.
