Barbara Hymel Bergeron, 64, died Feb. 17, 2012. She was a native of Convent and a resident of Lutcher.

She was survived by two daughters, Cindy B. Detillier and husband Lynn Jr. and Vanessa B. Miller and husband Marshall III; two step daughters, Janell B. LaTour and Gwen B. Cooper; five grandchildren, Hannah and Dylan Miller, Candice D. Huber and Nicole and Rogers Detillier; six step-grandchildren, Ben, Seth and Katie LaTour, Julia Theriot and Matthew and Michael Cooper; and a step-great-grandchild, Valerie LaTour.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Joseph “M.J.” Bergeron Jr., parents, Lynn and Vivian Tassin Hymel Sr., and a brother, Lynn Hymel Jr.

Bergeron was a teacher for 37 years in the catholic school system as well as Lutcher Junior High.

Services were held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.
