St. Peter Chanel presents the new gym

On Sunday, Jan. 29, St. Peter Chanel officially “cut the ribbon” on their new gym/multi-purpose building. Following the 11 a.m. Mass, clergy, guests, parents, students and parishioners processed to the new building to bless it and officially open its doors. Everyone enjoyed a jambalaya dinner and cake while checking out all of the features the new gym has to offer.

In attendance at the ribbon cutting were Fr. Ed Fuss, honorary chairman of the SPC Capital Campaign, along with Fr. Vincent Dufresne, pastor of St. Joseph, St. Michael and Sacred Heart parishes; Joanna Foltz, principal of SPC;Melanie Verges, superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Baton Rouge; members of the SPC Capital Campaign Steering committee, SPC School Board members, elected officials and Architect Joshua Hoffpauir and Contractor Scott Deumite.
