Krewe Jeanne d’Arc court pays tribute to school’s ‘Golden Moments’

LaPlace – The courts of the Krewe Jeanne d’Arc will celebrate the “Golden Moments” at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School during its 37th annual Carnival ball.

St. Joan of Arc’s junior and senior courts this year collectively raised over $66,000 for the ball, which is one of the school’s major fund-raising events. The 24 couples on the court brought in money from a variety of individual efforts, ranging from Sunday dinners and cookie dough sales to raffles and a craft show.

The Carnival balls took place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3 and 4, at 7 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc’s Family Life Center. The school presented the junior court on Friday and the senior court on Saturday.

Bryce Joseph Bertucci and Lauren Brooke Oncale will reign as king and queen of the junior court. Alex Pieter Miller and Riley Ann Edwards will preside over the senior court.

Bertucci is the son of Gerald and Staci Bertucci of LaPlace. Oncale is the daughter of Lee and Christine Oncale of Garyville.

Serving as pages to the junior court are Mia Grace Oncale and Brayden Jude Bertucci.

Miller is the son of Gregory Miller and Kristina Bandsma Miller of Norco. Edwards is the daughter of Richard and Kelly Edwards of LaPlace.

Pages to the senior court are Camille Ann Maynard, Andrew Joseph Miller, Stella Elyse Banquer, and Katherine Augustine Chapman.

Jackson Nash Jensen and Valerie Maria Perilloux will serve as prince and princess of the junior court. Borjius Jerome Guient Jr. and Maya Ruffin will reign as prince and princess of the senior court.

Junior court maids and dukes are Shannon Marie Monica and Seth Thomas LeBlanc, Morgan Alexis Espenan and Mason Paul Cassioppi, Katelyn Nichole Waguespack and Ian Patrick Kot, Eden Marie Simoneaux and Bryce Rene Newman, Madison Rose Sympson and Alexander James East, Aarti Patel and Christian Alexander Prince, Rylee Marie Schexnayder and Rustin Louis West, Grace Kathrine Schexnayder and Matthew Paul Schexnayder, Emily Lauren Schexnayder and Dwight Eugene Berlin III, and Bailey Nicole Bourgeois and Jake Anthony Vicknair

Senior court maids and dukes are Layla Nicole Ruffin and Patrick Myron Hannah II, Lindsey Ann DeSilvey and Jacob Paul Jensen, Jeanne Marie Roussel and Brady Anderson Becker, Alexis Victoria Keys and Colby Allen Steib-Dennis, Jeanne Claire Levet and Zachary Roy Weber, Charne’ Michelle Hill and Ja’Colbi Keysean Rivers, Lynsey Andrea Maurin and Matthew John Templet, Gabrielle Marie Boesen and Zachary Thomas Roussel, Sadie Lynn Kelly and Alexander Joseph Norris, and Carmelite Jean Hauge and Aakash Patel.

The ball’s theme paid tribute to the school’s 50th anniversary, and its entertainment will feature music from each of the five decades in the school’s history.
