William Boles has been selected as East St. John High School Teacher of the Year 2011-12.
Boles has been teaching for 14 years. He currently teaches Journey to Careers and World Geography. He has received many awards including Teacher of the Month in 2001, 2002 and 2010, Perfect Attendance Award in 2002 and 2006, Outstanding Teacher Award in 2002 and Peer Recognition Award in 2010.
Boles was asked “Why I teach?” He answered, “It’s all about the kids. These young people have minds like a sponge. Through my life experiences I feel I can prepare them for the ‘real world’ that awaits them after graduation to become successful in life. That is my goal as a teacher.”
“To be selected to represent my school is a tremendous honor. I feel every teacher in the school can identify a little part of themselves in me and I in them. Teaching is not a lone profession. It takes the work, help and support of all the faculty and staff to be successful. I am proud to represent the hard-working teachers and staff at East St John High School,” Boles continued.
