LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s detectives have pinpointed three men as persons of interest in Saturday’s homicide in Garyville, and also another murder and triple shooting in the same area in 2010.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Craig Lee Jr., 23 and Cyron Lee, both of South Fig Street, Garyville, Devonte Johnson, 18, of Little Lope Street, Garyville, said Capt. Dane Clement, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Craig Lee Jr. and Johnson are persons of interest in connection with the homicide of Kevin Ferrygood on Saturday, as well as the homicide of Darron Russell on May 23, 2010, which occurred at the same location.

According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to calls of gunshots near the intersection of South Fig Street and Daisy Street just after 9 p.m. Saturday and found Ferrygood lying in the road with several gunshot wounds. Clement said Ferrygood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile in the other case, detectives said Russell, a 38-year-old Paulina man and a 30-year-old Garyville female, were traveling south on Daisy Street in a white Ford Explorer when an unidentified person fired several shots into the vehicle while it was stopped at the intersection of South Fig Street. The gunfire wounded all three in the vehicle and also struck an 18-year-old, who was a bystander near the intersection, Clement said. The three other victims were treated for injuries, But Russell died at the hospital.

Clement said the arrest warrants issued this morning are for previous unrelated incidents.

Johnson and Craig Lee Jr. are wanted on four counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a firearm, and aggravated criminal damage to property in connection with a July 16 incident on Historic Main Street in Garyville.

Clement said witnesses reported that shots fired from a grey SUV struck another vehicle occupied by four subjects. No one was shot in the incident, but evidence at the scene indicated at least two weapons were fired.

Clement said Lee is also wanted for attempted second-degree murder in connection with an incident that occurred on Manchester Lane in LaPlace on January 7th of last year.

In that case, the victim told deputies that as he exited his car, Lee approached him with a gun. When he turned to run, Lee fired several shots missing him but hitting the car.

Johnson is also wanted for illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of marijuana in connection with an incident that occurred on Revere Drive in LaPlace on December 21.

Johnson was shot while driving his car on Revere Drive. When detectives were processing the car for evidence, they recovered a gun and marijuana in the car.

Clement said Cyron Lee is wanted for illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of marijuana in connection with the incident on Revere Drive. Lee was a passenger in the car when Johnson was shot.

Detectives consider all three suspects armed and dangerous. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of the men is asked to call St. John the Baptist the Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-653-6338, Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111, or any local law enforcement agency.
