CHAMPAGNE

Felix Kenneth “Ken” Champagne, 82, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson. He graduated from LSU in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He was a veteran of the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He was an assistant Scout Master with BSA Troop 323 in Luling. Following his retirement from Texaco in 1990, he was able to fully pursue his hobbies of traveling, gardening and fixing things.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yvonne Troxler, son, Michael K. Champagne Sr. (Heloise), daughter, Mary Elizabeth Dupuy (Cullen), grandchildren, Ryan Dupuy, Elizabeth Champagne and Michael K. Champagne Jr., and three brothers, Ernest “Red,” Hubert and Seth Champagne. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth T. Champagne, parents, Ernest Felix Champagne and Pearl Vicknair, brother, Howard Champagne, and sisters, Pearl C. Frankel and Mary Champagne.

Visitation and services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Burial followed in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.
