Cheryl Jean Waguespack Clay of Norco, 52, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was called to heaven Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.

Cheryl was the wife of Fred Ronny Clay and mother of Ashley Clay Moran (Michael) and Fred Elijah “Eli” Clay. She had two beautiful granddaughters, Amelia and Penelope Moran.

She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice J. “Mackie” Waguespack.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia O. Waguespack, her sister, Lisa W Young (Chris), and brothers, Maurice “Reese” Waguespack (Lynnie) and Wade Waguespack (Laura). Cheryl was the daughter-in law of Virginia O. Clay and the late Fred O. “Toad” Clay and sister-in-law of Roger “Bud” Clay (late Dorothy) and Bama Browning (Bob). She is also survived by a host of adoring nieces and nephews and was also a second mother to many.

Cheryl Clay was a graduate of Destrehan High School and attended the University of New Orleans. She worked for Allstate Insurance Group for many years.

Her smile lit up every room she entered, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Visitation was held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. Interment followed in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. Arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Condolences may be offered at
