LaPlace – Baseball pitcher Thomas Diamond spent the day with students teaching them a little bit about baseball. Diamond did exercises to get them ready for a game of ball. Each student had a chance to practice batting and run the bases with a little help from Diamond.

Diamond, a native of the New Orleans area, attended Archbishop Rummel High School and the University of New Orleans, where he played baseball. Diamond has played for the Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Cubs. He is currently a free agent.
