Joseph “Joe Roach” Williams Sr. passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve. He was a native of Vacherie and was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three children: son Joseph Williams Jr. (Barbara) of Lutcher, daughter Olivia Williams (longtime companion Isaac Peterson) of Seaside, Calif., and daughter JoAnn White (James) of Seaside, Calif., devoted nephew Adam Cooper Jr., devoted niece Rosalind Langford, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons, nephews, nieces and a lot of family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan Williams and Theresa Stevens, first wife Verlie Mae Williams, second wife Bruesella Williams, two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation and services were held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at First Community Antioch Baptist Church in Lutcher. Arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Lutcher. Family and friends are invited to send their condolences to www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.
